Thrill on Blueberry Hill
Finch Nursery is one of the biggest blueberry nurseries on the East Coast.
This week, we took a plant buying trip to Finch Blueberry Nursery in Bailey, NC. For a few years, we’ve been talking about expanding our blueberry production, and we finally decided to stop talking about it and take action!
We decided to get containerized plants this time around because they’re supposed to be easier to establish than the bareroot plants that we started our blueberry patch with four years ago.
So, off to Finch Blueberry Nursery we went. Our shopping list included both Rabbiteye and Southern highbush blueberry varieties. Tiftblue, Power Blue and Climax topped our list of must have varietes because of their vigor, fruit quality, and fruit yield.
The folks at Finch Nursery were very helpful, and helped us select a load of healthy looking plants to bring home.
